Below is a sampling of what a registered user can do once logged in

Search for hosts in your area

You may enter an address anywhere in the world and find hosts within a given radius. This is especially helpful if you wish to stay close to a Shul or find a host near your hotel. You can also find Guests in your area that wish to be invited for Shabbos.

Guest Search

Finding a Guest for your Shabbos table is just as easy as finding a Host. Simply put in the location where you would like to find a Guest, and click search. Each Guest comes with references and feedback, so you can feel confident about the experience.

View the search Results

Once a search has completed, the results are displayed. By viewing the pictures and profile, one can book a Shabbos with confidence and peace of mind. Powerful filtering is the next step. For example, a Guest searching for Hosts in the Los Angeles area can choose to see only Hosts that are available for a chosen Shabbos, or only Host that can accommodate families.

A Host profile

The profile of a Host is viewable without navigating away from the page you are in. It contains basic information about the host (city, state, gender etc.), his/her Guestbook entries, Buddies, References, and Shabbos availability.

Book a Shabbos

A Guest can request to visit a Host for Shabbos by completing the Booking form. Here he/she is presented with the appropriate options for both meals and lodging. These options are specific to the settings set by the Host in his/her preferences, and can be tailored to a specific Shabbos or Holiday. Friends can be added to the request by simply typing their name and clicking a button. All friends are notified by both email and alerts within the site.

Your Calendar

The site provides a calendar that embeds reservations and Shabbos requests. This is especially helpful to recall who you spent Shabbos with you in the past. It also displays precise Zmanin for the location of the residing address of the logged in Guest or Host. The calendar also calculates candle lighting time for a guest that is visiting a Host’s residence letting him/her know when Shabbos begins.

Alerts

When a Host or Guest logs into the site, they see a list of Alerts. Alerts provide pertinent information on the following topics – Shabbos reservations, Guestbook entries, Site updates, Shabbaton invitations, Events posted in your area, and more. Hosts can confirm a request directly in the Alerts grid or can choose to see detailed information as well.
